# How to use PromoStar to check or remove your Reddit connection

> Platform Connections shows which Reddit username is connected to PromoStar, stored as u/name, and lets you disconnect it. A Reddit connection is a stored username, with no Reddit login behind it.

Open **Connections** in the sidebar, click **Manage** on the **Reddit** card, and read the username PromoStar has on file. Click **Disconnect** there to remove it.

## Steps

1. Click **Connections** in the sidebar. The page is titled **Platform Connections**.
2. Find the **Reddit** card. A connected account shows a **Connected** tag and the username as `u/name`. An account that is not connected shows **Not connected yet** and a **Disconnected** tag.
3. Click **Manage**. The **Connect Reddit** page shows **Connected as** `u/name`, or **No Reddit account is connected yet.**
4. To remove the connection, click **Disconnect**. The connection is removed at once, with no confirmation step.

  The Reddit page shows and removes an existing connection. It has no field for typing a new username.

## What the connection is

A Reddit connection is a username, stored as `u/name`. There is no Reddit login behind it.

PromoStar checks the username later against your public Reddit profile. The check is advisory and never blocks the connection.

The watermark designer in the Media Library uses the connected `u/name` as its default text.

## Good to know

* **X / Twitter** appears on the same page as a **Coming soon** card. It has no connect option.
* **RedGifs** and the **PromoStar extension** have their own cards on the same page.

## Where processing happens

The check on your username runs on PromoStar's own worker. It reads public profile data from Reddit. It does not log in as you and does not read your media.
