# Why PromoStar recommends posting from your phone

> Why PromoStar recommends posting to Reddit from your own phone: your account matters most, your network second, and the app you post with third.

PromoStar recommends posting from your own phone because, in our experience, it is the best way to post. Your account matters most, your network second, and the app you post with third.

## What matters, in order

1. **Your account.** Reddit's "you're doing that too much" limit can hit accounts that are new or have low karma, and posts in communities that are sensitive to spam. Reddit's help page on it does not mention the app or the browser.
2. **Your network.** Reddit can link accounts by how they connect. Moderators report that new accounts on shared networks, such as public wifi, are often shadowbanned. Posting from your own phone on mobile data keeps you off public wifi.
3. **Your client.** In our experience, and in many creators' reports, platforms treat their own mobile apps as more trusted clients than a web browser. Reddit has not published any rule that treats mobile more favorably, so treat this as practice, not a guarantee.

  A phone does not protect an account on its own. A new account with little karma, or one that posts from a shared connection, can be flagged on any device.

## Good to know

* Reddit's spam rules are about what you do, not what you use. Repeated or unsolicited posting, mass-posting the same link, and spam tools break Reddit's spam policy.
* The habits that keep a promo account visible are the same on any device. Post original content, space your posts out, and keep your link in your profile instead of repeating it.
