Open Link in Bio, leave 18+ age gate and Open in browser (in-app escape) switched on, and publish. Fans then confirm their age before your links appear.

Steps

  1. Click Link in Bio in the sidebar. On the Content tab, find Safety & escape.
  2. Keep 18+ age gate on. Edit Gate headline and Gate message to change the wording.
  3. Keep Open in browser (in-app escape) on. Click Save.
  4. Under Your links, add each link. Behind the 18+ gate is on by default, and the added link shows an 18+ tag. Turn it off for safe-for-work links such as your Instagram.
  5. Click Publish, then copy your page address from the top of the page.
  6. Switch the preview between Gate and Page to check both views.

What a fan sees

Your photo, name, and bio load first, without links. If any link has the 18+ tag, the gate shows your headline and message with an I’m 18 or older — continue button. After a fan confirms, your links appear, and that browser remembers it on your domain. Each link points to a short address on your domain that forwards to your real destination. Inside an in-app browser, a hint shows how to open the page in a full browser. On Android, tapping a link also tries Chrome. On iPhone, the hint says to tap ••• at the top right and choose Open in browser.
On iPhone the fan has to make that tap, because iOS gives the page no reliable way to leave the in-app browser.

Good to know

  • PromoStar assigns the domain for your page address.
  • The Insights tab shows link clicks, Top links, Sources, and App / browser.

Where the data comes from

PromoStar’s public Link in Bio service serves your page. Each tap on a link stores a click record in PromoStar’s database with the fan’s IP address, their browser’s user-agent string, the referring page, the detected app and device type, and whether they passed the gate. Insights shows counts, not IP addresses.
