Click Copy link, then Upload to RedGifs, and paste the finished RedGifs watch link back into your post. You do not need the Chrome extension.

Before you start

Reddit does not accept direct video uploads to NSFW subreddits. This flow appears when a post has a video from your Media Library and the subreddit is marked NSFW in PromoStar. The same controls appear on the post’s card on the Posts page.

Steps

  1. In the composer, choose a video for a subreddit marked NSFW. A Video won’t upload here note appears.
  2. Click Copy link. It copies the link to your video on PromoStar’s CDN. The button reads Copied when it works.
  3. Click Upload to RedGifs. RedGifs’ upload page opens in a new tab.
  4. Paste the link into RedGifs and fill in the details its form asks for. If your post has a title, click Copy title to copy it.
  5. When RedGifs gives you the finished watch link, paste it into the RedGifs link field in PromoStar. It looks like https://www.redgifs.com/watch/your-clip.
  6. Click Add link. The post becomes a link post to your RedGifs clip, and the video stays as its thumbnail. The line RedGifs link added confirms it.
To go back to a plain video post, click Undo beside that line.
The link you copy points to the video on PromoStar’s CDN, and anyone who has the link can open the video.

Good to know

  • If the pasted text is not a RedGifs watch link, PromoStar shows “That isn’t a RedGifs watch link” and does not change the post.
  • If Copy link cannot reach your clipboard, PromoStar shows the link in a field you can select and copy by hand.

Where processing happens

RedGifs fetches the video from the PromoStar CDN link you paste. This flow gives PromoStar no RedGifs login, and PromoStar keeps no RedGifs credentials.
