A PromoStar notification can go missing because of a phone setting, how the app was installed, or PromoStar’s one-alert rule. Work through the group for your phone, then the PromoStar group.

iPhone

  • Not opened from the Home Screen. iPhone sends notifications only to web apps added to the Home Screen, and only on iOS 16.4 or later. See Install the PromoStar mobile app.
  • Notifications are off. Open Settings, tap Notifications, tap PromoStar, and turn on Allow Notifications.
  • A Focus is on. Do Not Disturb is a Focus and silences notifications. Check Settings, then Focus, to see which apps each Focus allows.

Android

  • Chrome blocked notifications. In Chrome, tap More (⋮), then Settings, Site settings, Notifications. Allow them for PromoStar. Chrome can also block a site automatically.
  • You cleared browsing data. Deleting Cookies and site data and Site settings removes the permission. Sign in and tap Turn on again.
  • Battery saving. Doze and App Standby limit what apps do in the background and can defer notifications. Open Settings, tap Apps, tap Chrome, tap Battery, and choose Unrestricted so Chrome can run in the background.
  • Data Saver. On a metered network it blocks background data for apps. Turn it off under Settings, Network & internet, Data Saver.

PromoStar

  • Notifications are off in PromoStar. If the control shows Turn on, tap it and allow the prompt. Your phone asks for permission only after that tap.
  • You re-added the app or switched accounts. On iPhone, a re-added app starts with fresh storage. Sign in, then tap Turn on. Do the same after you switch to a different PromoStar account on the same phone.
  • The phone was removed. If you selected Remove next to the phone on the Mobile App card, it gets no more notifications. Reopen the app on that phone and tap Turn on again.
  • “Notifications are blocked for PromoStar.” Allow them with the iPhone or Android step above, then return to the app.
  • The post already had its alert. Each post sends one alert per phone, and posts due before you turned notifications on send none. Ready now lists any post you missed. See One alert per post.
